I think you liberals got took………..
Our college-aged girl who helps us out with things came to clean some in the house today. She is young, and liberal. She called me after she finished cleaning and told me she found something that was going to make me laugh. I told her I could not wait to read it.
When I got home she had left the paper on my desk in my computer room. When I saw the paper I immediately knew what it was. She had written down for me the things the Democrats, comprised mainly of the left and liberals, were going to do. She had put stars by the two big things the Democrats promised to do if they were put back in charge. Well, the Democrats are back in charge. And lets look at what my girl had put stars by.
The first she had written in capital letters. They read, “GET US OUT OF IRAQ”. Well, not only are we not out of Iraq, but several weeks ago the President signed a bill authorizing $160 billion more for the war. What?
The second thing on the list was written like this, “GAS PRICES are too HIGH. Democrats will bring the price down”. In smaller handwriting was the price of a gallon of gas: $2.20!! What is the price now? It’s nearly double that.
Yes, I do think it’s fun and sad. You on the left have been taken by the Democrats. There is just no way you can argue that the big promises the Democrats made to get back in power have even remotely come true. And they have not come true because the people who are running the show for the Democrats are not honest people. They just wanted to get back in power.
My college-aged girl and I placed a bet on the outcome of what she wrote down. She lost big time. I can’t tell you what the bet was though. My wife would get too mad!!
The Democratic Party has a very very narrow majority in the House and the Senate, and not to mention, there is a Republican as president–and to make it worse a VP with ties to oil companies. I think you are being ignorant and naive to criticize the democratic party in your post. I hope you know that it takes a 2/3 vote in the Senate to override a presidential veto. How can they get these votes? With a democrat in the executive branch (making a majority in all three branches of legislature–as the Republicans had 1994-2006), then you are more justified to hold them accountable for not following through with their sentiments.
The Democrats made the promises!! People voted them in because they told us what they were going to do. I don’t need excuses. I need lower gas prices and our military home. That’s not being ignorant or naive. I was just stating fact and I realize that for a liberal facts are hard to bare. I stand by all I said. The Democrats made these promises to get elected and they have not kept them. You have to agree with that fact or maybe you just might be ignorant and naive!!
All us Daily Show-watching liberals know this isn’t news. The Democrats have been pussywhiped by Bush Jr.’s administration since they took the majority. They fought hard for timetables in Iraq and all that, but the Republicans just fought harder. Don’t forget we still have heroes like Kucinich calling for the impeachment of Bush Jr. and the immediate withdrawal from Iraq.
And about “being took”–we got took back in 2000 when Bush Jr. expressed his desire for a bipartisan administration. 194 days, 6 hours, and 45 minutes to go.
