“He REALLY Liked It”

Published by cajunrooster at 4:24 am under News Edit This

I have an 11-year old male cat, Pierre’. He is one bad boy and has been since he was a kitten. My big man is still very active and loves to climb. Just recently we bought him a large piece of cat furniture to play on. We had a smaller one, but we wanted to get him something larger. So we bought one on eBay.

When the rather large box came in we opened it and arranged all the pieces on the floor. We let my boy mill about amongst the stuff. He knew this was a big deal and I think he sensed this was something for him. After we whet his appetite just a bit we locked him in a bedroom. You could not have put the thing together with Pierre’s help. He had to stay in the bedroom, but he did not like it. He kept pawing at the door to get out.

My niece and I put the apparatus together. The thing is huge. It is 6 feet tall, 5 and a half feet wide and 2 feet deep. It has several cat toys hanging on strings hanging under platforms to lay on. There is a house with several holes in it. There are several types of platforms to lay on. The contraption even has a cat hammock on it. My big man wanted to get at the furniture bad.

After we assembled the piece it was time to turn Pierre’ loose. He came sprinting out of the room heading to the area where we had the pieces laid out. When he got to that spot the pieces were not there anymore. They were assembled. And then my big man noticed the cat furniture.

Pierre’ slid across my glass smooth wooden floor. I keep it polished to a high shine. My cat stopped with all four legs spread out. He looked up at the piece of furniture with his big green eyes wide open. He was in disbelief. He just could not believe his eyes. It took the old boy about 15 seconds to digest what he was looking at.

Then Pierre’ began to explore the whole thing. My big man gave the whole piece a good going over. He tried every cat toy on it. He lay on every bed. He climbed in the cat house. He jumped into the small hammock. My boy was truly having a wonderful time.

How much did he like it? He played on it all evening. When it was time to go to bed he was still playing on the piece. And when I woke up this morning he was sleeping curled up on one of the flat surfaces on the furniture. I can truly say he really liked it!!
