Beach Volleyball is not a Sport!!!
If I hear the names Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh again I am going to go postal. They have garnered just too much air time at the Olympics. There’s pretty beaches in California and beach volleyball gets played some. In the rest of the world, NO!! So there’s no way these women could not have won the gold medal. They just don’t play the game in Ethiopia, or Kenya, or France or anywhere except in the little enclave these women play at in California.
Oh, yes, some countries field a team, but it’s only for show at the Olympics. The coverage of this is just absurd. Beach volleyball is not a worldwide sport. I submit to you that May-Treanor and Walsh are not really that good. They should have waltzed by everyone they played yet they had a few close calls.
I just can’t see how the media can devote so much time and effort following a sport that’s only popular in a few square miles in California. It just boggles my small mind!!
beach volleyball is so difficult. especially doubles. you go try and play it. then you can see how rediculous you sound.
